Satirical piece on clueless corporate executives.

ECOM State of Affairs at TCS: A Corporate Comedy

A high-powered CEO (8 years at the company) struts past the CCO's office, where I happen to be sitting. The CCO (who's been around since dinosaurs roamed the corporate campus - 42 years) has a PowerPoint presentation displayed on screen.

CCO: "Hey there! You familiar with ENVIO?"

CEO: "Envi-what? Is that a new kind of mineral water in the break room?"

CCO: "No, no... ENVIO! The ECOM portal! Our digital storefront! The future of our business!"

CEO: *blank stare* "Never heard of it. Is it important?"

CCO: *whispers dramatically* "Between you and me... I've been here since we used abacuses for accounting, and I have absolutely no idea what it is either."

*Both executives burst into uncontrollable laughter*

CEO: "Wait, wait... so we've been paying developers to build something neither of us understands for how long?"

CCO: *wiping away tears of laughter* "Years! It's in the budget under 'Digital Transformation'!"

CEO: "Is that what that line item is? I thought it was for replacing the fax machines!"

*More hysterical laughter*

Narrator: "And this, folks, is why TCS's ECOM strategy is just a three-letter acronym that stands for 'Everyone Confused Over Marketing'."
