5. Build phases (each phase < 50% of context → new turn)
Phase 0 — Foundation **(THIS TURN)**
Phase 1 — 2027 Cover Story + 2 sample articles (next turn)
Phase 2 — 2027 Space + Technology sections
6. Image strategy
No live AI image generation in this environment. Instead:
- **SVG illustrations** — drawn in code, infographic style, matching the reference magazine
- **CSS gradients + patterns** — for hero backgrounds & section dividers
- **Annotated diagrams** — SVG with leader lines (the magazine's signature)
- **Stat tiles** — SVG icons + big numbers
- **Photo placeholders** — `data:` URLs or labeled placeholder boxes the user can swap for real photography later
- (Optional later) `image_search` tool runs for hero photos that need real photography
7. Tech choices
- Plain HTML / CSS / vanilla JS — zero framework, hostable on any static host
- One CSS file (shared/styles.css), one JS file (shared/menu.js)
- Each article = self-contained HTML file with `<link>` to shared CSS + inline mega-menu
- Mobile-responsive (CSS Grid + clamp() for fluid type)
- Print-friendly (so users can print pages — magazine call-back)
