The five beats
Beat 1 — The hook (0:00–0:20)
> **You're going to make a real webpage right now. Just tell me who it's for.**
> *(box placeholder: "a birthday page for my sister Aya")*
**Learner does:** types a few words, hits the one button: **Make it →**
**Teach-move (invisible):** the friction is zero and the ask is human. No jargon ("prompt", "generate", "model"). We're establishing that they are in charge and the words are theirs.

Beat 2 — The reveal (0:20–0:50)
Then, the moment that makes it a *lesson* and not a toy — a single line slides in under the preview:
> **You typed 6 words. The AI wrote 80 lines. Where did the other 74 come from?**
> **It guessed.** That's the one thing to understand about AI: it doesn't *know* — it **predicts what usually comes next**. You said "birthday," so it guessed balloons, a warm color, a cheerful message. Good guesses. But guesses.
**Teach-move (explicit now):** first contact with the core idea — **prediction, not knowledge.** Delivered *after* the delight, using *their own* build as the specimen.

Beat 3 — The steering wheel (0:50–1:40)
> **Watch what happens when you change one word. Swap "birthday" for something else — try "graduation," or "get well soon."**

**Learner does:** changes one word. Hits **Make it →** again.
**Learner sees:** the page transforms — colors shift, message changes, the whole vibe follows the new word. Side-by-side with the old one if screen allows.
> **See that? You didn't rebuild anything. You changed one word and the AI re-guessed everything around it.**
> **That's the whole skill.** Your words are the steering wheel. Vague words → vague page. Specific words → the AI has more to go on.
**Teach-move (the payload):** this is the literacy. They just *felt*, in their own hands, that input shapes output. Nobody told them — they proved it to themselves. This is the difference between "watched a video about AI" and "understands AI."

Beat 4 — The first taste of judgment (1:40–2:20)
**Learner sees:** their page, and a quiet prompt:
> **One more thing. Look closely at your page — did the AI get everything right?**
> *(if the AI invented a detail — a fake date, a wrong name spelling, a placeholder it left in — we point at it)*
> **It guessed a date you never gave it.** That's the flip side of guessing: sometimes it fills a gap confidently and gets it wrong. Your job, always, is to catch that. Fix it now.
**Learner does:** corrects the detail, hits **Make it →**.
**Teach-move:** first exposure to the scarce muscle — **confident ≠ correct.** We're not teaching hallucination-detection yet. We're planting the reflex: *always look, the AI guesses, you decide.*

Beat 5 — The artifact + the loop (2:20–3:00)

**Footer on every artifact:**

**Then the pull to the next lesson:**
> **You just did the first thing most people never do — you made AI build something and watched it guess.**
> **Tomorrow: make it *listen* — get exactly what you want, not what it assumed.** *(→ Lesson 1.2 / Level 2)*
**Teach-move:** the artifact is proof, portfolio, and ad in one object. The footer is the viral loop — every learner's creation recruits the next learner. The "tomorrow" line is the streak hook.
