AI ADVENTURES FOR YOUNG CREATORS
---
SECTION 1: AI BASICS - WHAT'S ALL THE BUZZ ABOUT?
---
LESSON 1: Welcome to AI Adventures! (3 min)
**[SLIDE: Colorful title with "AI Adventures" and fun graphics]**
Hey there! Welcome to AI Adventures for Young Creators!
I'm SO excited you're here, because you're about to learn something that most adults don't even know yet.
**[SLIDE: What you'll create - show examples]**
By the end of this course, you'll be able to:
- Chat with AI like it's your creative partner
- Create AMAZING artwork just by describing it
- Make your own songs and music
- Build videos using AI magic
- Write stories, poems, and even get help with homework
- And start learning to code with AI as your buddy!
**[SLIDE: No experience needed]**
The best part? You don't need to know ANYTHING about AI to start. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
All you need is:
- A computer, tablet, or phone
- Internet
- Your imagination (super important!)
- And a parent or guardian to help set up some accounts
**[SLIDE: Quick tip]**
Quick tip before we start: These lessons are short on purpose — about 3 to 6 minutes each. So you can learn a little bit, try it out, and come back for more!
Ready to become an AI creator? Let's GO!
---
LESSON 2: What is AI? (Think of it Like a Super Smart Helper) (5 min)
**[SLIDE: "What is AI?" with question marks]**
Okay, so what IS this "AI" thing everyone's talking about?
AI stands for "Artificial Intelligence." I know, big words. Let me break it down.
**[SLIDE: Brain comparison]**
Think about how YOU learn things. When you were little, you saw thousands of dogs. Big dogs, small dogs, fluffy dogs, spotted dogs. After seeing enough, your brain learned "Oh, THAT'S what a dog looks like!"
AI works the same way, but MUCH faster and with WAY more examples.
**[SLIDE: Learning from data]**
ChatGPT, the AI you'll be using, learned by reading basically the entire internet — billions of books, websites, and articles. So when you ask it a question, it's like asking someone who's read every book in every library in the world!
**[SLIDE: But it's not magic]**
Now here's the important part: AI is NOT magic, and it's NOT actually thinking like you do.
It's really good at PATTERNS. It learned what words usually come after other words. What makes sense. What sounds right.
But it doesn't truly "understand" things the way you do. It can't feel happy or sad. It doesn't have opinions. It's just REALLY good at predicting helpful answers.
**[SLIDE: Simple analogy]**
Here's a simple way to think about it:
AI is like the world's best autocomplete. You know when you text on your phone and it suggests the next word? AI is like that, but a MILLION times smarter.
**[SLIDE: What AI can do]**
What can AI do?
- Write stories, poems, emails
- Answer questions
- Help with homework (but not DO it — more on that later!)
- Create pictures from descriptions
- Make music
- Help you code
Pretty cool, right? Let's keep going!
---
LESSON 3: AI is Your Partner, Not Your Replacement (4 min)
**[SLIDE: Human + AI = Awesome]**
Here's something super important to understand: AI is here to help you, NOT replace you.
Think of AI like a really good teammate.
**[SLIDE: Sports analogy]**
If you play basketball, having a great teammate doesn't mean YOU don't matter. It means together, you can win more games!
Same with AI. YOUR ideas, YOUR creativity, YOUR personality — that's what makes things special. AI just helps you make those ideas REAL faster.
**[SLIDE: Examples]**
For example:
- YOU decide what story to write. AI helps you expand it.
- YOU come up with the cool drawing idea. AI helps create it.
- YOU figure out what song you want. AI helps make it sound amazing.
See? YOU are still the boss. The director. The creative genius. AI is your assistant.
**[SLIDE: Why this matters]**
Why does this matter?
Because sometimes people worry that AI will do everything for them and they won't learn anything.
But the truth is: people who KNOW how to work WITH AI will be the most successful. It's like knowing how to use the internet — it's a skill that helps everything else you do.
**[SLIDE: Your superpower]**
So your job is to learn:
- What AI is good at (we'll cover this!)
- What AI is NOT so good at
- How to ask it great questions
- And how to make the final result YOUR OWN
That's your AI superpower. Let's develop it!
---
LESSON 4: AI Safety Rules (Super Important!) (4 min)
**[SLIDE: Safety First - with shield icon]**
Okay, before we start playing with AI tools, we need to talk about safety. This is REALLY important, so pay attention!
**[SLIDE: NEVER share - red warning]**
NEVER share these things with AI:
- Your full name
- Your address
- Your school's name
- Phone numbers
- Passwords (never, ever, EVER!)
- Photos of yourself
- Private family stuff
Why? Because AI conversations might be saved or reviewed. And you should always protect your personal information online — AI or not.
**[SLIDE: AI makes mistakes]**
Important rule #2: AI is NOT always right!
AI can make stuff up. Scientists call this "hallucinating" — which is a funny word for "AI got confused and said something that sounds right but isn't true."
So if AI tells you something important — like a fact for a school project — CHECK IT with a trusted source like an encyclopedia, a parent, or your teacher.
**[SLIDE: Get help from adults]**
Rule #3: Get help from parents or guardians for:
- Setting up accounts (most AI needs you to be 13+)
- Anything that feels weird or confusing
- If AI ever says something that makes you uncomfortable
**[SLIDE: Homework help vs cheating]**
Rule #4: The homework rule
Using AI to LEARN is great! Ask it to explain things, check your ideas, help you brainstorm.
Using AI to CHEAT is not okay. Don't just copy what AI writes and pretend you did it. You won't learn anything, and that's not fair.
**[SLIDE: Be kind]**
Rule #5: Be kind with AI
Don't use AI to make mean stuff about real people. Don't create fake pictures of your friends or teachers. Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.
Got it? Great! Now let's set up your AI toolkit!
---
LESSON 5: Setting Up Your AI Toolkit (4 min)
**[SLIDE: Your AI Toolkit - icons of tools]**
Time to get your accounts ready! Grab a parent or guardian for this part.

**[SLIDE: Claude vs ChatGPT]**
Should you use Claude or ChatGPT?
Honestly? Both are great! Try them both and see which one you like more. It's like having two really smart friends to ask for help.
Some people prefer Claude for writing stuff and ChatGPT for everything else. But you can use either for anything!
---
LESSON 8: Meet Gemini - Google's AI Friend (5 min)
**[SLIDE: Gemini logo]**
Last but not least: Google Gemini!
Gemini is Google's AI, which means it's connected to all of Google's information. Pretty powerful!
**[SLIDE: What makes Gemini special]**
What's cool about Gemini:

Try all three and find your favorite!
---
LESSON 9: The Magic of Good Questions (Prompts!) (6 min)
**[SLIDE: The Magic Word: PROMPT]**
Here's a secret that will make you AMAZING at using AI: it's all about how you ask!
The question or instruction you give AI is called a "prompt." And better prompts = better answers.
**[SLIDE: ABC of Prompts]**
Remember the ABCs of prompting:
**A = Ask clearly**
Be specific about what you want. Don't be vague!
Bad: "Write something"
Good: "Write a funny poem about a cat who thinks it's a dog"
**B = Be detailed**
Give context and examples. Help AI understand!
Bad: "Help with my project"
Good: "I'm doing a school project about volcanoes for 5th grade. Can you explain how volcanoes erupt in simple terms?"
**C = Check and improve**
If the answer isn't quite right, ask again differently!
"That's good, but can you make it simpler?"
"Can you add more details about the lava part?"
**[SLIDE: Before and After examples]**
Let me show you the difference:
**Weak prompt:** "Tell me about dogs"
*Gets a generic Wikipedia-style answer*
**Strong prompt:** "I'm thinking about getting a dog. I live in an apartment and go to school, so I'm not home during the day. What kind of dog would be best for me? Explain like I'm 12."
*Gets specific, helpful, relevant advice*
**[SLIDE: The 5 W's help]**
When you're stuck, use the 5 W's:
- WHO am I? (I'm a 6th grader...)
- WHAT do I want? (I need a short story...)
- WHERE/WHEN is this for? (It's for English class, due Friday...)
- WHY do I need this? (I want to learn...)
- HOW should it be? (Make it funny... Make it 200 words...)
**[SLIDE: Practice time]**
Try turning this bad prompt into a good one:
Bad: "Write a story"
Good version might be: "Write a short adventure story (about 300 words) for a 12-year-old. The main character should be a kid who discovers they can talk to animals. Make it exciting with a surprise ending!"
See the difference? Now AI knows exactly what you want!
---
LESSON 10: Fun Prompt Tricks (4 min)
**[SLIDE: Prompt Tricks!]**
Here are some awesome tricks to make AI work even better for you!
**[SLIDE: Trick 1 - "Explain like I'm..."]**
Trick #1: "Explain like I'm _____"
- "Explain quantum physics like I'm 10"
- "Explain the economy like I'm a 5th grader"
- "Explain in simple terms that a kid would understand"
This magic phrase makes AI simplify anything!
**[SLIDE: Trick 2 - Ask for lists]**
Trick #2: Ask for lists
- "Give me 5 ideas for..."
- "List 10 reasons why..."
- "What are 3 ways to..."
Lists are easier to read and give you options!
**[SLIDE: Trick 3 - Ask for formats]**
Trick #3: Ask for specific formats
- "Write this as a poem"
- "Make it into a story"
- "Turn this into bullet points"
- "Write it like a text message"
- "Make it into a song"
AI can write the same information in tons of different ways!
**[SLIDE: Trick 4 - Adjustments]**
Trick #4: Ask for changes
After AI gives you something, you can say:
- "Make it funnier"
- "Make it shorter"
- "Make it more exciting"
- "Add more details about ___"
- "Change the ending"
- "Make it less scary"
You're the director — tell AI what to change!
**[SLIDE: Trick 5 - Role play]**
Trick #5: Ask AI to be someone
- "Pretend you're a science teacher and explain..."
- "Act like a sports coach and help me..."
- "You're a chef — what should I make for dinner?"
AI can play different roles to help you!
**[SLIDE: Try these!]**
Try these for fun:
- "Give me 5 weird facts about octopuses"
- "Write a limerick about pizza"
- "Explain why the sky is blue like you're a funny scientist"
- "Pretend you're a detective and solve the mystery of my missing sock"
Have fun with it!

SECTION 3: AI WRITING HELPER - BECOME A SUPER WRITER
---
LESSON 12: AI Can Help With Homework (But Not DO It!) (5 min)
**[SLIDE: The Golden Rule]**
Let's talk about the most important rule for using AI with schoolwork:
**AI helps you LEARN. You do the WORK.**
**[SLIDE: OK vs NOT OK]**
**It's OKAY to:**
- Ask AI to explain a concept you don't understand
- Get AI to check your ideas before writing
- Use AI to brainstorm or come up with starting points
- Ask AI to review and give feedback on your work
- Have AI quiz you to help you study
**It's NOT OKAY to:**
- Copy AI's writing and pretend you wrote it
- Have AI do your assignment for you
- Submit AI work as your own
- Lie to teachers about using AI
**[SLIDE: Why this matters]**
Why does this matter?
1. **You won't learn anything** — The whole point of homework is to practice and learn. If AI does it, YOUR brain doesn't get stronger.
2. **Teachers can tell** — More and more teachers can spot AI writing. It often sounds different from how kids write.
3. **It's not fair** — To you or your classmates.
4. **Tests exist** — If AI did all your homework, you won't know the stuff for tests!
**[SLIDE: The right way]**
Here's the RIGHT way to use AI for homework:
"I'm working on an essay about the American Revolution. I don't understand why the colonists were upset about taxes. Can you explain it simply so I can write about it in my own words?"
See? You're LEARNING, then WRITING IT YOURSELF.
**[SLIDE: Example dialogue]**
Another good example:
You: "I wrote this paragraph about frogs. Can you tell me if there are any mistakes or if I should add more detail?"
*AI gives feedback*
You: *Improve YOUR work based on the feedback*
That's using AI as a learning tool, not a cheating tool!
---
LESSON 13: Writing Stories with AI (6 min)
**[SLIDE: Story Time!]**
NOW for the fun stuff — let's write stories with AI!
This is totally creative and totally allowed. You're not copying — you're COLLABORATING with AI to create something new.
**[SLIDE: Getting started]**
Step 1: Start with YOUR idea
Think of:
- Who is your main character?
- Where does the story take place?
- What's the problem or adventure?
For example: "A kid named Max who discovers a portal in his closet that leads to a world where animals run everything."
**[SLIDE: Ask AI to help expand]**
Step 2: Ask AI to help
"I have an idea for a story about a kid named Max who finds a portal in his closet to a world run by animals. Can you help me write the opening paragraph to hook readers?"
*AI writes an opening*
**[SLIDE: Guide and adjust]**
Step 3: Keep guiding!
- "That's good! Now can you continue the story where Max meets the animal president?"
- "I don't like that part. Can you make it more exciting?"
- "The dog character should be funnier. Add more jokes."
- "Write what happens when Max tries to go back home but the portal is closed!"
**[SLIDE: Make it yours]**
Step 4: Make it YOURS
Read what AI wrote. Then:
- Change words to sound like YOU
- Add your own ideas
- Take out stuff you don't like
- Add details AI didn't think of
Now it's not AI's story — it's YOUR story that AI helped with!
**[SLIDE: Story starters]**
Try these story starters:
- "What if a kid could pause time?"
- "A superhero whose power only works when they're scared"
- "The last human in a robot city"
- "A magical pet that no one else can see"
Pick one and create something awesome!
---
LESSON 14: Poetry and Creative Writing (5 min)
**[SLIDE: Poetry Power!]**
Did you know AI is AMAZING at poetry? Let's explore!
**[SLIDE: Types of poems]**
You can ask AI for:
- **Haikus** (5-7-5 syllables)
- **Limericks** (funny, rhyming)
- **Acrostic poems** (first letters spell a word)
- **Rhyming poems**
- **Free verse** (no rules!)
**[SLIDE: Example - Haiku]**
Let's try: "Write a haiku about tacos"
*AI might write:*
"Crunchy shell awaits
Cheese and lettuce, salsa falls
Tuesday's finest gift"
See? Simple, fun, and follows the rules!
**[SLIDE: Example - Limerick]**
"Write a limerick about a dog who loves socks"
*AI might write:*
"There once was a dog who loved socks,
He'd steal them and hide them in box,
His owner would yell,
But under the spell,
He'd do it again 'round the clock!"
**[SLIDE: Acrostic example]**
"Write an acrostic poem for the word FRIEND"
*AI creates poem where:*
F - First letter of line 1
R - First letter of line 2
I - First letter of line 3
... and so on!
**[SLIDE: Make it better]**
Remember, you can always say:
- "Make it funnier"
- "Make it about MY friend Sarah"
- "Change the last line"
- "Make the rhymes better"
**[SLIDE: Your turn]**
Write a poem about:
- Your pet (or dream pet)
- Your favorite food
- Your best friend
- Something that makes you laugh
Try different types and see which you like best!
---
LESSON 15: Fix Your Writing with Grammarly (4 min)
**[SLIDE: Grammarly logo]**
Let's talk about Grammarly — a tool that helps catch your mistakes!
**[SLIDE: What Grammarly does]**
Grammarly is like a super-powered spell checker:
- Catches spelling mistakes
- Fixes grammar errors
- Suggests better words
- Checks your tone
- Works while you type!
**[SLIDE: How to use it]**
How to set it up:
1. Go to grammarly.com
2. Create a free account (with parent help)
3. Add the browser extension
4. Now it works EVERYWHERE you type!
**[SLIDE: Demo]**
When you type: "I goed to the store yestarday"
Grammarly will:
- Underline "goed" — suggest "went"
- Underline "yestarday" — suggest "yesterday"
Just click to fix!
**[SLIDE: Not cheating]**
Is Grammarly cheating? Nope!
It's like using spell-check, which everyone does. Teachers generally love when students catch their own mistakes.
But remember: Grammarly catches MISTAKES — it doesn't write FOR you.
**[SLIDE: Pro tip]**
Pro tip: Before turning in any writing, run it through Grammarly once. It's like having a friend check your work!
---
LESSON 16: Make Your Writing Sound Like YOU (5 min)
**[SLIDE: Keep Your Voice!]**
Here's something important: AI writing can sound... boring. Generic. Like a robot.
YOUR writing should sound like YOU!
**[SLIDE: AI's style]**
AI often writes like:
- Very formal
- Using big words
- Kind of "flat" — no personality
- Sounds like everyone else
**[SLIDE: Your style]**
Your writing should show:
- YOUR sense of humor
- YOUR personality
- YOUR way of saying things
- YOUR unique perspective
**[SLIDE: How to add yourself]**
After AI helps you write something, go through and:
1. **Add your jokes** — If you're funny, add something that makes YOU laugh
2. **Use words you actually say** — If you don't say "furthermore," don't write it!
3. **Add personal details** — Only you know your experiences
4. **Read it out loud** — Does it sound like you talking? If not, change it.
**[SLIDE: Example]**
AI wrote: "The canine was extremely joyful upon receiving the treat."
You could change it to: "The dog went absolutely BONKERS when I gave him the treat. His tail was like a helicopter!"
Which sounds more like a real kid wrote it? The second one!
**[SLIDE: The blend]**
The perfect process:
1. AI helps you get started
2. AI helps you expand ideas
3. YOU make it sound like you
4. The final result is YOUR voice + AI's help
That's the sweet spot!
---
SECTION 4: AI ART STUDIO - CREATE AMAZING PICTURES
---
LESSON 17: How AI Art Works (It's Like Magic!) (4 min)
**[SLIDE: AI Art Magic]**
Get ready for the COOLEST thing you'll learn: making pictures appear from your words!
**[SLIDE: How it works]**
How does AI art work?
Remember how I said AI learns from examples? Well, AI art tools learned from MILLIONS of pictures.
They learned:
- What a "dog" looks like
- What "sunset" means
- What "cartoon style" means
- How colors work together
Now when you type "a happy dog at sunset in cartoon style," AI combines everything it learned to create a NEW picture that never existed before!
**[SLIDE: You describe, AI creates]**
The process:
1. You type a description (called a "prompt")
2. AI imagines what that would look like
3. AI creates a brand new picture
4. You get something unique!
**[SLIDE: Not copying]**
Important: AI doesn't copy existing pictures. It creates NEW ones based on patterns it learned. It's like how you can draw a dog without copying a specific dog — you know what dogs look like!
**[SLIDE: What you can create]**
With AI art, you can create:
- Characters for your stories
- Album covers for your songs
- Posters for your room
- Gifts for friends
- Funny pictures
- School project visuals
- Profile pictures
- Whatever you can imagine!
**[SLIDE: Let's go!]**
Ready to make some magic? Let's go!
---
LESSON 18: DALL-E in ChatGPT - Your First AI Art (6 min)
**[SLIDE: DALL-E in ChatGPT]**
The easiest way to make AI art is right inside ChatGPT! It uses a tool called DALL-E.
**[SLIDE: How to do it]**
Here's how:
1. Open ChatGPT
2. Just ask for a picture!
3. Type something like: "Create an image of a purple dragon eating pizza on the moon"
4. Wait a few seconds...
5. BOOM — you have art!
**[SLIDE: Demo]**
Let me show you. I'll type:
"Create an image of a happy robot playing guitar in a garden full of flowers"
*[Show generated image]*
How cool is that?! That image never existed before — AI just created it from my words!
**[SLIDE: Tips for better results]**
Tips for better pictures:
1. **Be specific** — "A cat" is okay, "A fluffy orange cat sleeping in a sunbeam" is better!
2. **Describe the style** — "Cartoon style," "realistic photo," "watercolor painting," "pixel art"
3. **Add details** — Colors, lighting, mood, background
4. **Describe the scene** — Where is it? What's happening?
**[SLIDE: Prompt formula]**
Easy formula:
[SUBJECT] + [DOING WHAT] + [STYLE] + [DETAILS]
Example:
"A pirate ship [SUBJECT] sailing through clouds [DOING WHAT] in Studio Ghibli anime style [STYLE] with rainbow colors and birds flying around [DETAILS]"
**[SLIDE: Try these!]**
Try creating:
- "A penguin wearing a superhero cape, flying over a city, digital art style"
- "A cozy treehouse at night with glowing windows and stars, storybook illustration"
- "A dinosaur at a birthday party, fun cartoon style, colorful"
Your turn!
---

LESSON 22: Fixing and Improving Your AI Art (5 min)
**[SLIDE: Not perfect? Change it!]**
What if AI gives you something and it's... not quite right?
No problem! You're the art director. Tell AI what to change!
**[SLIDE: Ask for changes]**
You can say:
- "Make the dog bigger"
- "Change the background to a beach"
- "Remove the person on the left"
- "Make it more colorful"
- "Make the character look happier"
- "Change the style to cartoon"
**[SLIDE: Keep what works]**
If you LIKE an image but want to change one thing, be specific:
"I love this image! Can you make a version where the dragon is breathing ice instead of fire? Keep everything else the same."
**[SLIDE: Try variations]**
Not sure what you want? Ask for options:
"Give me 3 different versions of a forest scene"
Then pick your favorite!
**[SLIDE: Save the good ones]**
Pro tip: When AI makes something you LOVE:
1. Save it immediately
2. Write down the prompt you used
3. You might want to make similar things later!
**[SLIDE: Practice makes perfect]**
The more you practice, the better you'll get at:
- Writing good prompts
- Knowing what to change
- Getting what you imagine
It's a skill — and you're building it!

LESSON 23: AI Art Rules - Be Ethical (4 min)
**[SLIDE: AI Art Ethics]**
Quick but important lesson about being ethical with AI art.
**[SLIDE: Don't copy artists]**
Rule 1: Don't try to copy specific artists
Saying "in the style of [specific living artist]" can be disrespectful to real artists who spent years developing their style.
Instead, describe WHAT you want: "colorful abstract art" instead of copying someone's name.
**[SLIDE: No mean images]**
Rule 2: Don't make mean pictures of real people
Even if it's funny to you, making fake images of real people (especially classmates, teachers, or celebrities) can:
- Hurt their feelings
- Get you in trouble
- Be used to spread lies
Just don't do it.
**[SLIDE: Be honest]**
Rule 3: Be honest about AI art
If someone asks "Did you draw this?", be honest:
"I created it with AI! I wrote the description and it generated the image."
People will still be impressed! But lying about it isn't cool.
**[SLIDE: Respect others]**
Rule 4: Don't claim AI art is hand-drawn
If there's a school art competition for hand-drawn art, don't submit AI art.
If a friend asks for a drawing FROM YOU, they probably want YOUR art, not AI's.
Know the difference!
**[SLIDE: Have fun responsibly]**
Bottom line: Have tons of fun with AI art, but be a good person about it!

Okay, this is where things get REALLY wild.
AI can make FULL SONGS. With singing. And instruments. And it sounds like real music.
No, I'm not kidding.
**[SLIDE: How it works]**
Just like AI learned to write by reading billions of texts and learned to draw by seeing millions of images...
AI learned to make music by listening to millions of songs!

You can make:
- Full songs with vocals
- Background music for videos
- Jingles and short tunes

"Help me write lyrics for a song about my cat who thinks she's a queen. Make it funny and rhyme."
Then copy the lyrics into Suno!
**[SLIDE: Example]**
You write: Theme is "my cat is a queen"
ChatGPT helps expand:
```
Verse 1:
She walks around like she owns the place
Looking at me with that royal face
Knocking things off the counter every day
My cat, the queen, getting her way
Chorus:
She's a queen, a furry queen
The fanciest cat you've ever seen
Bow down, it's her decree
My cat rules over me!
```
Put that in Suno = instant hit!
